ABOUT THE BLACK DALIAH

I've always been fascinated by the Daliah's murder. Sure this is a cold case and that alone has it's appeal. Yet, there is still so much missing from the story of the poor girl, found in pieces, found in 1947 Los Angeles. Days before her murder, some said, she took an address book from an L.A. night club owner. They say when she was found, pages were missing from that address book. Was this the reason for her mutilation or was her murder simply the handiwork of insanity?

Another mystery surrounding the Daliah case is her portrayal in the press as a prostitute. In fact, she was a virgin, and the coroner's remarks include a note stating she was immaturely formed and not capable of sex. On top of this, her murderer made a point of filling the cavities of her body (other than her vagina) with various vile objects.

When I saw the DePalma trailers, the first thing I did was hit the computers again and research the Black Daliah's murder. Hours on the computer did not bring me any closer to finding the name of the murderer. Things are always that way with the Daliah. All of the hard evidence pertaining to her murder is "missing" from the Los Angeles Police Department except for the coroner's report outlining her humiliation. Pages missing from an address book she thought precious she took it from someone may never be revealed.
